The main aims of this project were to assess whether there are true differences in educational attainment at key stages three and four between rural and urban areas, to explore factors that particularly affect attainment in rural areas, to quantify how much of the variation in attainment between rural and urban areas is due to differences between individuals, between schools and between local authorities and to describe differences in attainment between English regions and the factors that may explain these differences.


University wins bid to train primary school teachers as Mathematics Specialists

The University of Northampton's School of Education has won a tender to lead a new national initiative across sixteen local authorities to train around 1000 primary school teachers as Mathematics Specialists over the next three years.
