Northampton College becomes only college in region to offer specialist qualification

Northampton College is offering two internationally recognised taxation qualifications to meet the emerging demand from small businesses to acquire the knowledge to be able to complete their own accounts. The college is the only college in the county – and only one of four nationwide – to offer the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification. The two-year part-time course, studied over two evenings a week, is ideal for anyone working with tax, with tax forming a part of their job or for small businesses wanting to increase their understanding of the UK taxation system to assist them with the completion of their returns. The course covers personal and business taxation, business compliance and ethics and places a strong emphasis on self assessment for both individual and corporation tax liabilities.

Local people have been taking part in a consultation about proposals for the regeneration of the Moat Lane area in Towcester.

The plans were exhibited at two public events held at the Mill on Chantry Lane last week. Both the events, which were held on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24thJuly, were well attended and prompted a significant amount of constructive feedback. The application is being subject to a public consultation exercise and anyone interested in the scheme still has until Friday 6th August 2010 to respond to West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, which is the planning authority for the development.
